Deadlines and calendar
Calendar sits near the top of the Lex sidebar because it is where the working
week is planned. It holds court terms that arrived from portal.just.ro,
procedural deadlines you enter yourself, internal deadlines, meetings and tasks —
and it flags two things a diary normally cannot: a term whose portal date and your
own computed procedural date disagree, and two commitments for the same lawyer at
the same time.
Getting around the calendar
Section titled “Getting around the calendar”- Month, Week and List views, with Today and month-by-month navigation.
- Mine shows what you own. Team shows the deadlines on case files where you are Responsabil or on the Echipă, including entries owned by colleagues.
- A type filter: all types, court hearings, tasks — and options for public holidays, leave and birthdays, which are not populated in this release.
- An owner filter, when you want one colleague’s diary.
- Clicking a day opens its detail panel beside the grid.
Days that contain a flagged conflict are marked with a count, so a clash is visible at month level.
Kinds of entry
Section titled “Kinds of entry”| Type | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Termen de judecată | A court term |
| Termen procedural | A procedural deadline you compute |
| Termen intern | An internal deadline |
| Ședință / Eveniment | A meeting or event |
| Task | A piece of work with a due date |
Status is derived from the due date, not set by hand: Viitor, Aproape de termenul limită once it is inside the “due soon” window (three days by default, adjustable for the whole firm), Depășit once it has passed, and Finalizat once you complete it. Statuses are refreshed automatically through the day.
Add a deadline
Section titled “Add a deadline”From the calendar, create a deadline and fill in:
- Titlu.
- Scadență — the date and time.
- Tip termen.
- Responsabil — defaults to you.
- Litigiu — the case file it belongs to, if any. Choosing one fills Instanță from that file.
- Descriere.
You can also start one from a case file, which pre-selects the matter.
Add a task
Section titled “Add a task”Add task on the calendar is a lighter form for work rather than terms: Name, Present lawyers, Assigned to, Start date, End date, Due date, Client, Project and Description.
Terms that arrive from the portal
Section titled “Terms that arrive from the portal”When a case file is linked to portal.just.ro, each synced hearing becomes a
calendar entry of its own, marked as coming from the portal, carrying the court
and the case file. New and changed hearings found by the morning watch appear here
without anyone typing them. See
Case files and portal.just.ro.
These entries offer View in portal so you can check the official record.
Portal date versus your procedural date
Section titled “Portal date versus your procedural date”A portal-sourced term shows a Portal vs procedural panel with two values:
- Portal value — the hearing date and time exactly as the portal shows it.
- Confirmed procedural — the date you, as the lawyer, confirm as the procedural deadline.
Use Confirm procedural date to record your own value. If the two differ, Lex says “Portal and confirmed procedural values differ” and keeps the entry flagged, so a portal date that does not match how the term actually runs stays visible instead of quietly becoming the truth.
Schedule conflicts
Section titled “Schedule conflicts”When two of your open deadlines fall within a couple of hours of each other (the window is a firm-wide setting, two hours by default), Lex records a schedule conflict for that lawyer. Conflicts appear as a banner on the calendar, with the overlapping pair and the option to:
- Acknowledge — you have seen it and it is intentional or already handled.
- Resolve — it no longer applies.
Conflicts maintain themselves: move one of the two deadlines out of the window and the open conflict resolves itself; complete a deadline and its conflicts clear. Resolved conflicts are never re-opened by the same pair drifting back into range without a change on your side.
An entry is also flagged when its portal and confirmed procedural values disagree, so the flag means “look at this”, not only “two things at once”.
Completing and reopening
Section titled “Completing and reopening”A deadline’s page offers Mark completed and, afterwards, Reopen deadline. Completing records when it happened; reopening recomputes the status from the due date.
Reminders, digest and preferences
Section titled “Reminders, digest and preferences”Two things reach you outside the app:
- Reminders — email and in-app notifications a set number of days before a deadline is due. The default lead times are 1, 3 and 7 days.
- A daily digest — one email each morning at 8:00 Romanian time listing the deadlines due that day, one per organization you belong to.
Both are deduplicated, so a dispatch that runs more than once does not send you the same reminder twice.
Open Settings (the one directly under Calendar in the sidebar) to set your own preferences under Notification preferences:
- Email reminders.
- In-app notifications.
- Daily digest email.
- Reminder lead days — a comma-separated list, for example
1, 3, 7.
Preferences are per firm, so if you work in more than one organization each can be set separately. If you have never touched them, reminders and the digest are on.
The firm-wide values — the “due soon” threshold, the conflict window, and whether reminders and digests are sent at all — are system settings, changed by whoever administers the platform for your firm rather than per user.
Who sees what
Section titled “Who sees what”You see the deadlines you own, plus those on case files where you are the responsible lawyer or a team member. Team widens the calendar to that second group; Mine narrows it to your own. Nothing crosses between firms.
