Projects

Projects are the non-litigation side of the practice: advisory work, due diligence, a transaction, a retainer — anything that is an engagement rather than a court file. A project records who the work is for, who runs it, and the commercial frame agreed with the client.

Projects live under Clients → Projects, and can also be started from a client’s page with New Project, which pre-selects the client.

Choose New Project and fill in:

What and for whom

  • Nume — the engagement’s name.
  • Număr — leave it blank and Lex assigns the next number for your firm (PRJ-00001, PRJ-00002, …). A number you type yourself must be unique within the firm.
  • StatusFacturabil, Nefacturabil or Intern.
  • Client.
  • Firmă client — the client’s fiscal entity this engagement is for. It must belong to the selected client; Lex refuses anything else. If the entity you need is not listed, add it on the client page first (see Clients, contacts and cases).
  • Cod intern client — the client’s own reference for the matter, when they have one.
  • Sursa — how the work came in: Recomandare, Website, Eveniment, Partener, Altă sursă.

Who runs it

  • Responsabil — defaults to you.
  • Supervizori — one or more colleagues.
  • Practică.

Dates

  • Data semnării — when the engagement was signed.
  • Deschis la data — defaults to today.
  • Închis la data — leave empty while the engagement is live. A close date earlier than the open date is rejected.

Billing frame

  • Valută — RON, EUR or USD.
  • Contact facturare — the billing contact, chosen from the contact persons linked to that client. A contact who is not linked to the client is rejected, so invoices cannot be addressed to someone who has nothing to do with them.
  • Regula de facturareOnorariu orar blended, Onorariu orar individual, Onorariu fix or Success fee.

These fields record what was agreed. Time recording and invoice production are not part of this release — a client’s Invoices tab says as much.

The Projects list shows counters for total, billable, non-billable and internal work, status tabs, a filter by client, and a search across project name, number and client name. It is ordered by most recently updated.

The project page shows General information — billing entity, currency, billing rule, open, close and signing dates — and Ownership — client, responsabil, billing contact and supervisors. Edit changes any of it.

Delete Project removes the engagement behind a confirmation.

Because a project points at a fiscal entity, that entity is protected: Lex refuses to delete a fiscal entity a project still uses, and tells you why. Re-point or delete the project first.
